Final Project: Video Stream

For my final project I would like to do a video stream of the process of putting together a sample pack for commercial release on my website. I would stream the process from my computer and talk and comment over the process of making the samples for the library. This project would require all my interdisciplinary skills; video, audio, public speaking, writing, distribution through the network. I can use my exterior gear and the plugins inside my equipment to create the sounds from scratch. I can make the process even more interesting by making a few full demo tracks to upload as “beat previews” that are possible to make with the samples I’d generate for the library. I can share my screen to be able to show the desktop application I would work with, as well as the hardware equipment I’d be sampling from. I would be sampling guitar riffs and progressions, tweaking my VSTs to generate interesting patches for leads or chords, and resampling those for even more complex sounds. I’d also demonstrate MIDI networking in this project. I would make an introduction to the video talking about what the video is about for context, and I can make it look good in post production before the stream, and can play it live during my streaming recording. Maybe this idea is not exactly relevant to this class but I really want to get creative and be able to post a video to YouTube with this type of stream. I’ve been trying with Streamlabs to get my setup working well, so this has become a passion project of mine, that could be cool to work further on for this final project. I’ve been trying to get more into video podcasting and this is a unique opportunity to delve more into the production community. I like internet users like Marlow Diggs and CookinSoul who do videos like the one I would be trying to make. They usually talk about sampling and their techniques, and usually run through their thought process as they work on stuff. I’d be doing something like this, and I can make it as concise and interesting as they do.
